REGISTER FOR YOUTH WRESTLING
2026-27 SAW Wrestling
Program Overview:
Sheboygan Area Wrestling (SAW) is a competitive wrestling program designed to develop athletes of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced wrestlers. Beginners are welcome, and both boys and girls are encouraged to participate. The program focuses on building strong fundamentals, improving technique, developing confidence, and preparing wrestlers for competition at the high school level.
Participation in wrestling tournaments and competitions is strongly encouraged but not required. Competition opportunities may involve travel to events outside the Sheboygan area.
Participants and Practice Schedule:
3rd–5th Grade: Practices twice per week (Monday and Wednesday).
6th–8th Grade: Practices twice per week (Monday and Wednesday) outside of the middle school wrestling season. During the middle school season, SAW practices will be held on Wednesdays only.
Select 2nd Graders: May participate based on prior wrestling experience and coach approval.
Middle School Participation Requirement:
All middle school wrestlers must actively participate in their respective school wrestling programs and regularly attend their middle school team practices.
Practice Details:
Days: Mondays and WednesdaysTime: 6:00–7:30 PM
Location: North High School – Multipurpose Room (Wrestling Room)
Season Dates: November 30, 2026 – March 24, 2027
Holiday Breaks: No practice on 12/23, 12/28, 12/30
Registration Fees and Competition Costs:
Season Registration: $85 per wrestler, which includes a USA Wrestling membership and T-Shirt.
Competitions/Tournaments: Tournament entry fees are not included in the registration cost and are approximately $25 per event.
Equipment:
Wrestling Shoes: Each wrestler is required to purchase and provide their own wrestling shoes.
Headgear: Each wrestler is required to purchase and provide their own headgear.
Competition Singlet: Wrestling uniforms can be checked out through SAW and returned at the end of the season.
PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS
Sheboygan Area Wrestling partners with local programs to provide a coordinated wrestling experience for all ages. SAW teams up with Sheboygan North High School, Sheboygan South High School, Farnsworth Middle School, Horace Mann Middle School, Urban Middle School, and the Sheboygan Recreation Department in order to find the right fit for your wrestlers.

SHEBOYGAN RECREATION DEPARTMENT WRESTLING
K-3rd GRADE (Partner Organization)
The Recreation Department Wrestling program is a beginner-friendly, noncompetitive program designed to introduce young athletes to wrestling in a fun, positive, and supportive environment. No prior wrestling experience is required, and both boys and girls are encouraged to participate. Practices emphasize basic wrestling fundamentals, physical activity, and building confidence through low-intensity instruction and age-appropriate activities.
The primary goal is to develop an interest in wrestling while providing an enjoyable first experience with the sport.
Participation in competitions is optional and will only be encouraged when wrestlers demonstrate readiness and interest. Any competition opportunities will be limited to local events within a short distance of Sheboygan.
MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING 6th-8th Grade

Wrestling for middle school students is available through the Sheboygan School District. Register for wrestling at the middle school website or by clicking the link. You must be a resident in the Sheboygan School District to participate. Private school students that live in the school district can sign up at the middle school in which they reside.
